Whether you like it or not, the automotive world is moving towards electrification, but thanks to manufacturers such as Tesla and their incredibly fast Model S and Rimac equipped with ballistic Nevera, even without a large V8 engine and twin-turbo Speed fans can also sit back and relax, and they can still enjoy driving. Others just like to see the world burn. At the end of 2020, we reported on the Tesla Model S V8 exchange project of Rich Rebuilds, which was the first such exchange project in the world. Now, a year later, the construction is complete and it looks and sounds like a suitable performance car. This Model S called "Ice-T" recently stole the limelight at the 2021 SEMA event, and now it is ready to break the hearts of people elsewhere.
In order to provide some background information about the build, Rich Builds got this water-damaged Model S a few years ago, and the entire car was dismantled due to damage to the electric motor and battery back cover. Since Tesla will not sell power systems to individuals, Rich Rebuilds decided to do what any passionate American would do: remove the 426-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine from under the hood of the Chevrolet Camaro. Facts have proved that the Chevrolet V8 is very suitable for the front cavity of the Tesla Model S-after a lot of cutting and manufacturing. The original wiring harness has removed more than 50% of the original connection and reinstalled without major problems. A complete transmission channel must be customized for the sequential gearbox, as is the fuel tank and all its auxiliary systems. A gorgeous four-inch custom exhaust pipe is also manufactured inside.
In the video, these people took Ice-T and ran a few things. First, they picked up the child from school, and then asked the gas station attendant about the location of the gas filler cap. Next, they showed their creation to some local autobots who seemed shocked by the quality of the manufacturing. Ice-T even has a remote boot system. All original Tesla displays can still be used, although any mention of battery life and charging time has been removed. Rich Rebuilds promises to conduct a more in-depth review of different elements of the car in future videos, including dynamometer operation, and see the actual weight of this thing, but for now, we are very happy to see that this thing is actually Move on your own and anger Tesla fans.
